Chapter One
Prediction - Two guys that like and own a bunch of mice.
Clarifications - People would not travel around working on ranches today like they did back then.
Questions - Is Lennie special? Why would Lennie want to pet dead mice? Why exactly are they on the run?
Connections - I also don't have a lot of patients for people like how George doesn't have a lot of patients for Lennie.
Summary - Two guys named George and Lennie had to leave a town called weed and are on the run. Now they are camping out and are going to a ranch in the morning to start working. George is kind of mean to Lennie. Lennie likes mice and likes to pet them even after he kills them.

Questions - why wont George let Lennie even talk? Why would Curley act like that towards Lennie? Why would Curleys wife be such a tramp?
Connections - I have also been late to work like Lennie and George were late. I have also met people like Curley who want to fight everyone and are really cocky.
Summary - George and Lennie are at the ranch, they showed up late and the owner was mad that they were late because they were short two guys in the field. He tells them that they are going to start working after supper. We learn that Curley is very cocky and wants to start a fight with Lennie. George tells Lennie to stay away from Curley. Curleys wife is a tramp and has the eye for slim who is another worker. In the end of the chapter they are going to supper.

Questions - Why would Curley fight Lennie for laughing? Is George really going to let candy come with them? Why did Carlson want to shoot Candy's dog so bad? Why are Curley and his wife always looking for each other.
Connections - I also have had to put a dog down because of old age like candy did. Like Lennie and George I sometimes fantasize about the future.
Summary - George becomes pretty good friends with everyone. They get invited to the bar, candy joins George and Lennie with buying that house and property. Carlson shoots Candy's dog. Curley gets in a fight with Lennie, Lennie crushed Curleys hand. Curley agreed not to tell anyone about the fight. He is going to say he got his hand stuck in a machine.

Questions - Why did Curleys wife marry Curley if she dislikes him so much? Will George, Lennie and Candy actually buy that land? Why would Lennie and Candy tell Crooks about buying that land?
Connections - I have also caught people in a lie like how Curleys wife caught Lennie, Candy and Crooks in a lie. I also dream of owing a nice piece of land someday like George and Lennie do.
Summary - George and Candy end up hanging out with Crooks in his room in the barn. While the rest of the boys are in town at the bar. Curleys wife comes and talks to them and asks them what happened to Curleys hand, she knows Curley and Lennie got in a fight but Lennie, Crooks and Candy stick to the story of Curleys hand got caught in a machine. Lennie and Candy tell crooks about their plan to buy that land. Crooks says he will come along but in the end of the chapter George comes in and eventually gets mad at them for telling Crooks and Crooks tells Candy never mind about coming along.

Clarification - If someone commits a murder now days they usually wouldn't be chased with guns by people that are mad about it. They would be put on trial to decide what happens to them.
Questions - Why would Lennie just not let go of Curleys wife? Why doesn't George go find Lennie and run away? Will George and Lennie reunite?
Connections - I also get scared when i do something wrong like Lennie does. I have covered things up before that I messed uup on to like Lennie was going to do with the puppy.
Summary - We find out Lennie kills the puppy. Curleys wife comes and talks to Lennie and will not leave him alone. She ends up having him feel her soft hair and he doesnt want to stop feeling it, she pulls away and Lennie wont let go so she starts screaming.
